Stacking them just doesn't work, at all. On EFT with a Crusader, speed fitted (MWD), without skills, a first Small Auxiliary Thrusters II gives me 400M/S boost, that seems about right. If i buy and fit a second one however, i get an 11M/S boost... Can anyone else see what's wrong with that? Also, the difference between T1 and T2 is not really noticeable, With this fit with T1 Aux thrusters, i get 3712 M/S but with T2 Aux thrusters i have 3719M/S, not really that much bang for your buck, if you ask me.
I think this is more of a bug than a balancing issue since the rigs don't give the increase (on the second one) that is advertised in the info of the rig.
All speeds here are without skills/implants.
Huh? I don't know what your skills are, but whether you compare to all level five skills or my personal skills, the numbers you're pulling are totally wrong. Besides - did you even try this out in the game besides EFT warrioring it?
Using the latest version of EFT (2.12.1) and use "All level V" skills, on a Crusader:
Fit one 1MN MWD (I or II - same speed, only cap. difference) in the mids -> you get a speed of 4009 m/s
Don't fit any speed mods in the lows
Put one small auxiliary thruster I in the rigs -> you get 4299 m/s OR Put one small auxiliary thruster II in the rigs -> you get 4360 m/s
Put two small aux. thruster I's in the rigs -> you get 4570 m/s Put two small aux. thruster II's in the rigs -> you get 4691 m/s
Even if you start putting nanofibers or overdrives in the lows, you don't get a serious stacking penalty on the rigs unless you fit 3 speed mods in the lows. And nothing so drastic as what you mentioned unless all four lows are filled with speed mods. And, even then, there is no such configuration on a Crusader, or any ship in the game for that matter, as getting a 400 m/s bonus with one aux. thruster rig and then only an addl. 11 m/s from the second aux. thruster rig.
Now, the real issue is that the aux. thruster IIs don't give enough of a speed bonus to justify their huge increase in price over aux. thruster Is. Even more so, fitting 2x polycarbon rigs Is is better in almost all circumstances than fitting 2x aux. thruster rigs IIs (if you can't turn fast enough to keep up transversal another 100 or 200 m/s isn't gonna help you) and always better than 1x aux. thruster II + 1x low friction nozzle II (better numbers at a lower cost).
